Plot Summary
Samantha Baker (played by Molly Ringwald) is turning sixteen. Except her parents forget her birthday in the midst of her sister getting married. Her crush, Jake Ryan, doesn't even know she exists yet. A geek keeps trying to pick her up. Her best friend Robin is the only one she's able to talk to about it all.
My Thoughts
The first of the 80's classics from John Hughes that made Ringwald a star (others include The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink). I love all of these and Ringwald does a great job in all of them, her best roles coming in this and TBC. She's truly a teen queen of that decade. Hughes' work never gets old for me, I can watch them time and time again and still feel so happy. This one is no exception.
