Die Hard
1988
Directed By John McTiernan
Cinematography by Jan de Bont
Plot Summary
Flying in from New York City, John McClane (played by Bruce Willis) is going to see his wife, Holly, and their two kids for Christmas. McClane goes to Holly's office holiday party after touching down in Los Angeles. Soon after he arrives, terrorists seize the building and chaos breaks loose. McClane, a cop back on the East Coast, takes the matters into his own hands to try and save the day.
My Thoughts
Talk about a classic. This is one of those films you need to see at least once. It is by far Bruce Willis' best role (and right behind is the sequel, although Moonrise Kingdom is a very close rival). It's not your typical holiday movie, but it's still a great film set at Christmas. At this point it's pretty much an annual tradition for me to watch this movie in December. The action films that were birthed from the style of Die Hard are endless, and for good reason.
